Creative Scrappers sketch 262

Another inspiring sketch at Creative Scrappers! It's sketch #262 by Jenny Evans. I was rather intimidated by all the cutout chevrons at first, but then I remembered this wonderful collection I had lying around, just waiting to be used- Brothers by Echo Park. Here's my take on this fun sketch, using lots of Echo Park goodies and a tiny bit of Lily Bee Design.  I just love it when the boys get all silly and playful! Great summer memories from July 2012 in Papi's garage... boys and four-wheelers, it's like moths to a flame!

Here's the sketch:

Paper Camellia February sketch challenge

Here's a challenge that caught my eye... I just love Kristine Davidson's sketches- clean, crisp and inspiring! It was made for 3 photos, but of course, a sketch is a starting point, a place to get the creative juices going. It's a nice versatile sketch, and I used some Echo Park goodies from my stash.

And here's my take on it:

I used the For The Record 2 by Echo Park. I love the shade of blue in the papers. I softened it up with some velum. I add stitching to almost every layout. Just love the added texture. And the happy frame just made me happy! The metal camera is by Maya Road, the stamp is by Amy Tangerine.

The journaling is a tad small, and it reads how much I like this photo. DS#3 with his kissable cheeks, bright eyes and his freshly cut hair... you read that right. He's not quite 4 months old in this photo, and he's had a haircut. He's been sporting a mullet early on, but when he couldn't see anymore, that's when we brought him in to the barbershop. The barber claimed that we had his youngest client...

Sketch #59 reveal- Let's Capture our Memories

Hi everyone! It's been a very busy week at work, and this sketch really helped me unwind. I love the elements in it, from the patchwork to the little accents. I used 1 larger photo instead of 2 small ones. It's a great sketch by Becky Fleck at Pagemaps. I've been hoarding a bit of this Carte Postale paper from Basic Grey- it's so soft and muted. I really love the tone and various patterns! Great for travel pages, even if it's just a day trip...

This is my take on it...

Go check out the fabulous reveal on the Let's Capture Our Memories blog! There's lots of layout and card inspiration there!

Let's Capture Our Memories Reveal Day!

It's reveal day at LCOM! The layout sketch is by Kimberly Figures. I was a bit overwhelmed at first as I'm used to clean cut, straight line sketches, but the snowflakes in the sketch were inspiring for a few recent photos we took while playing on the "mountain" in the court. Every year, the snowplow makes this huge mountain of snow, big enough to slide down... Fun for hours!

Here is my interpretation of the sketch. Pretty true to the initial sketch if i do say so myself...

The photos are a bit overexposed, but that's the reality of capturing a sunny winter day sometimes!

The papers are all from Echo Park and so are the stickers. The flair is from Evalicious. Don't you all love the metallic silver thread? Found it in the sewing section at Michael's. I just love the extra bling it brings!
