Happy New Year! Creative Scrappers #258

I decided last night to give the last challenge of the year a go- mostly because I'm in a scrappy mood, and in a Christmassy mood! This is a layout of Christmas of 2010- the kids were eager for Santa to visit, of course, and the year was also marked by the arrival of DS#3 in mid-December... Good memories!

Here is my version:

Have a great New Year, and I wish you all the best in 2014!!  TFL!

As happy as a pig...

I saw this color scheme on Canadian Scrapbooker's facebook page... it's by Design Seeds. What a cool site for a color challenge! This is a very unusual color choice for me as my layouts are pretty bright and boyish... but a photo I have of DS#3 struck a cord for this color combo (she said with a sarcastic smile)! Sketch is from Creating With Sketches vol. 2.

Here is DS#3, in the laundry room sink, after getting rid of a particularly dirty diaper. He had some all the way up to his neck! Ick! But he seems happy enough...

I was wondering if that expression "happy as a pig in $#!&"was universal...

So sorry about the bathroom subject, but parenthood is not just flowers and pb&j sandwiches... Lol!

TFL!

More Christmas cards!

I was on a roll last week, making cards for teachers and special people... here are a few more! I really had a great time with this collection from Jillibean Soup...

Thanks for letting me share!

Christmas cards galore!

I made a huge dent in my Jillibean Soup Winter Tortellini collection, making some cards. Funny I said I wasn't much of a card maker, but sometimes, inspiration strikes!

These were made with loads of Jillibean Soup goodies. My favorite is the penguin one. So cute for an elementary school teacher... Thanks for looking, more to come!

Let's Capture our Memories DT!

I'm really excited to be a part of the new DT. I was just thinking how my first challenges online (evah!) have been with LCOM! It seems like forever ago! It's gonna be a great place to find some scrapbooking ideas and inspiration. Thanks Isabelle for having me!

I'll be back soon with a ton (7) Christmas cards! Funny I was just saying a few days ago that card making wasn't really my thing... hehehe!

New layout-Découverte- Discovery

New layout, but really, it's an old layout! It was made with some scrappy friends at my LSS Let's Capture Our Memories crop in the spring of 2013. I'd finished it, but then DS#2 wanted to "see" up close, and dropped something heavy on the photo- it got scratched, and it's taken me awhile to get it fixed. Oh well, here it is!

This gorgeous collection is Harvest Lane by Simple Stories. The sketch is Creative Scrappers #226. Also used are an Evalicious Flair, Studio Calico wood veneers and Pebbles felt tree.

This is DS#3 discovering how great it is to jump into a big pile of leaves!

Thanks for looking!

Cards for a Monday evening

I love making layouts and I am really not a card maker at heart, but I feel sometimes scraps are calling to be used... My hereditary frugal ways can't take buying cards that aren't very original or even very pretty. Sometimes, a card feels like a mini work of art. Here are a few recent ones:

This was made for my scrappy friend Aurélie, singer and scrapper extraordinaire, and her new daughter Eloïse. I don't get to play with a lot of pink, so this was kinda fun!

And Christmas is fast approaching, so here are a few, inspired partly by Cardmaps and Nicole Nowosad, using a lot of Jillibean Soup.

I've been wanting to do a grid for a long time. Here it is! I saw the little 3-D Christmas tree online and think it's the cutest thing.

Another Jillibean Soup creation, using vellum as a confetti container, and lots of sewing yet again. I just love the Maya Road paper clip tree.

Thanks for looking and happy crafting!

Can u hear me now?

I love sketches!!! They're a great take off point to get creative. I don't miss the days when I stared at patterned paper and cardstock, wondering where to cut first. Sketches are a great way to get the most out of your scrappy time. If you're like me, time is limited, and I'd rather not waste it with "scrapper's block"!

My favorite sketch site is Creative Scrappers. I was on their DT last fall and had an absolute blast. It definitely boosted my creativity (I work best under pressure sometimes...hehehehe!)

This is Creative Scrappers's May Challenge. The sketch is by the owner, Kristine Davidson, and was a bit out of my comfort zone with it's very separate elements, but I like the final result. It seems suiting that the layout is about DS#3 "working" on the computer, on the CS page...

And here's my take on the sketch-

To me this is totally funny as he's talking on the phone, surfing the web, on a Creative Scrappers page, at 15 months old. Monkey see, monkey do... Scrappy goodies from Jillibean Soup.

Thanks for looking!

A few recent layouts

I see the snow coming with a bit of nostalgia for the lazy days of summer! Here's a recent layout I made of DS#3 playing at the beach in July of 2012, just as a busy work week was about to start. We had a great time at the beach with our little beach bums.

This was done with a whole lotta Fancy Pants Design papers and a Pagemaps sketch. I did this one at one of the great crops put on by my LSS Let's Capture Our Memories. There's some Jillibean Soup corrugated stuff, Studio Calico wood veneers and cork and a pic of my little cutie!

This next one is a share on a Creative Scrappers sketch #253. I just love this Simple Stories Harvest Lane collection! It's just so colorful and fun!

Grimpeur d'arbres is Tree Climber in French- My scrapbook pages are mostly in my native French as my boys would otherwise grow up wondering who did their scrapbooks... hee hee! I'll remember to translate...

I also used some Evalicious flair, Studio Calico wood veneers, and some cute My Little Bit of Whimsy pin and button! Love the look of the copper thread on the AC thickers...

Welcome to my little scrappy space!

Well here goes! On board for a new adventure! I've been thinking about a blog for quite some time now, and this is as good a time as any to jump on board with this great way of sharing scrappy goodness! I enjoy reading blogs and getting inspired, and never thought this would become for me a sweet little haven for my scrappy stuff, but someone suggested I should start one, then someone else, then someone else... scrappy peer pressure! Ha!

As most scrappy friends have said when starting on the bloggin' journey: it's gonna be a short post, as I'm not totally sure what I'm doing. But this is neither rocket science or brain surgery, so I should get the hang of it soon...

Here is the last layout I've made, done for Creative Scrappers (a super duper great place to get inspired, with challenges, prizes and great ideas!). This is my take on sketch 254. I usually do more journalling (none on this one!) but sometimes, the photo says everything.

This is DS#3 just enjoying himself on a stroll during a grey, cloudy day. An everyday magic moment...

Lots of My Mind's Eye goodies were used here, Cut and Paste collection. I also used a Pebbles felt cloud, Evalicious flair badge, Studio Calico chevron speech bubble, Jillibean Soup corrugated cardboard and stickers...

Thanks for looking, and thanks for being patient while I learn the ropes!

Hugs...
